Kids of Courage is gearing up for an unforgettable ride through New York City (minus the traffic) and, as always, our courageous and inspiring campers will be riding together with us!

We would love for you, your family and friends to join us on our thrilling journey through the five boroughs of New York to benefit Kids of Courage, an organization dedicated to helping children with serious medical diagnoses. Together we can attempt to conquer illness through fun and adventure.

Join us on this ride by raising $1,000 (or more!) through sponsorships and donations. Let your family and friends know that you aspire to bike for a cause that will make a tremendous difference in the lives of children battling serious illness.

Your adventure begins in Lower Manhattan. The ride heads north through the heart of Manhattan to Central Park and continues on to historic Harlem and the Bronx, returning south along the East River on the FDR Drive. From there it crosses into Queens and then Brooklyn, where cyclists take over the highway before making the thrilling climb up--and down--the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge to Staten Island. The route is 42 miles, mostly flat except for the bridges.

Enjoy the sights of springtime in the city as you cycle through the course, joined by other like-minded cyclists, cycling for an admirable cause.Since this a relatively easy course, minimal training is necessary, so it is not too late to make a commitment to ride and make a difference in your life as well as others.

Together, and only together, we'll bike united. Let's do this.

Q: How do I sign up?

A: You can sign up at www.bikeforcourage.org by clicking on the “Register” tab on the right side or on top of the page. There is a small $50 registration fee. The rest is simple: You will receive a follow-up email from Bike New York with a form to fill out. Once complete, you are ready to train for the big day and fundraise to support our courageous children.

Q: Whoa, will I be able to actually bike through New York City and cross the finish line?

A: Yes! You won't believe what you are capable of. Bikers of all ages, including kids, have all crossed the finish line in years past. We do it as a group and it's a blast. Just don't forget to enjoy the view as you go!

Q: How do I get donations to reach the minimum $1,000 fundraising goal?

A: Tell the world you've joined Race For Courage in an effort to help seriously sick children. Email family and friends, tell your social media followers and fans, and fax those who still have a fax machine that you need their support! Share your personal Race For Courage website link, allowing visitors to easily sponsor your ride via credit card. Checks and cash can also be mailed to Kids of Courage at 445 Central Avenue, Suite 216 in Cedarhurst, NY 11516. The amount donated will be added to your fundraising goal. Simple, right?

Q: What happens if I don't meet my fundraising goal?

A: It's easier than you think. You have until Race Day to meet your fundraising goal. That means there is plenty of time left to fundraise. If you're not able to collect $1,000 by Race Day, your credit card will be charged for the remaining amount. Again, it's easier than you think.

Q: I want to set my fundraising goal higher than the minimum of $1,000 per biker. Can I?

A: Sure! The more you raise, the more children we are able to help. As long as you raise at least $1,000, your credit card will not be charged. Shoot for the stars!

Q: What if I still have additional questions?

A: We would love to help! Email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and we'll get back to you right away.
